Today, the Columbus Landmarks team had the privilege of attending the @cbusmetroclub forum: "Is Public Art a Public Good?" 🎨

The panel featuring @adambrouillette (Artist, Muralist, and Public Art Advocate), @malvarstewart (Fashion Designer & Performance-Based Public Artist, and Adjunct Faculty at @ccadedu), @mrshortscreates (Creative-N-Chief at @artfluential_, and Creative Director at @ohorganizing), @creativeshel10 (Public Art Commissioner and Project Manager at @poindextervillage), with host @cfave1 (Senior Director of Community Engagement, Talent, & Culture at @orange_barrel_media, Columbus College of Art & Design Alumni), engaged in a passionate conversation about the role, message, and future of public art in Columbus.

The conversation was fueled by the release of the new State of Public Art Report by the @artmakescbus, offering valuable insights into the current state and future of public art in our community. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore the dynamic integration of insightful inter-disciplinary collaborations for the preservation and future of our neighborhoods.

Last weekend, preservationists and historic proper

Last weekend, preservationists and historic property homeowners Abigail McLean and Mark Sweeney, opened their doors to Columbus Landmarks and our Preservation Director Susan Keeny to view the results of the @historiclazarushouse rehabilitation. The house, located on East Town Street and built in 1879 by Fred Lazarus Sr., recently underwent renovation, as featured in @columbusmonthly. It was a great honor to learn about their personal building rehabilitation journey and how to advocate for the preservation of highly significant places in Columbus and its neighborhoods. 🏠
